Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to read blueprints
- Ability to use inspection/measurement devices
- Ability to demonstrate basic machining skills
- Related machining experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Excellent working knowledge of gages, i.e. dial indicator micrometers, verniers, calipers, snap gages, etc.
- Formal quality training a plus
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set-up, adjust and operate all of the machines in the grinding department including any inspection equipment required for job
- Verify dimensions and stamp on/off the job for conformance to blueprint/set-up sheet specifications
- Read blueprints/set-up sheets and shop orders for product specifications such as dimension, tolerances and number of pieces to be ground, and tooling instructions, such as grinding speeds, feed ratios, holding fixtures and grinding wheel to be used
- 6S
- Preventative Maintenance
- Make adjustments when dimensions are unacceptable and correct machine to produce quality product
- Nital etch training and certification
- Produce parts at an acceptable rate
- If work in a FAA safety sensitive area, must participate in the anti-drug and alcohol random testing program
- Train other operators as required
- Perform job functions and tasks required by management and supervisors
- Safety conscious
Qualifications:
- Due to ITAR regulations, must be a U.S. Person
- High school diploma or equivalent
Language, Math, and Reasoning Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, drawings, set-up sheets, travelers, procedure manuals and government regulations.
Computer Skills:
Must be able to use the computer and computer software as required by job.
