Biewer of Lansing is looking to add full-time General Labor / Machine Operators to our team in Lansing, MI. This position will train for various roles, possess problem-solving skills, and enjoy being a team player.
Scheduling: 1st(6am to 4pm) and 3rd (8pm to 6am) Shifts
Accountabilities:
- Ability to work in various departments as needed.
- Stacker: Package lumber into a unit size of proper dimension, grade, quality, and piece count.
- Splitter: Use lumber splitter machine to size units of lumber, ensure even ends, and appropriate appearance of all units.
- Delather: Machine takes lath sticks out of plywood to prepare for shipping. Hand-stacking lumber is necessary.
- Tagger: Using a tagging/staple gun to attach customerrequired tags/labels.
- Responsibly follow all safety procedures and policies, and
work together with co-workers to ensure a safe work
environment and culture.
Qualifications:
- Reading, writing, and math competency demonstrated by a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Ability to bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in all elements of an outdoor environment year-round.
- General lumber and/or building materials knowledge is preferred.
