Capital Markets Summer Internship Program
Location(s): Detroit, MI
The Capital Markets Internship is tailored to students interested in capital markets products. The 8-week internship program will provide students the opportunity to gain experience in Debt Capital Markets as well as derivatives, foreign exchange trading, and Investment Banking. Debt Capital Markets
Assist the Loan Syndications team on the syndication process.
Preparation of information memorandums and pitch books.
Meet with industry experts throughout the bank.
Experience a broad range of industry sectors across the country such as:
Technology and Life Sciences
Environmental Services
Real Estate
Equity Fund Services
Manufacturing
Derivatives/Foreign Exchange Trading
Experience what is involved with the trading desk for derivatives and F/X.
Learn different market and commodity trading systems.
Investment Banking
Be introduced to Investment Banking services with focus on M&A services.
Understand how to leverage database resources and publications to identify prospects.
Learn business development and marketing strategies.
Interns will also have opportunities to:
Network with executives within the Capital Markets and Lending divisions across the country.
Participate in training opportunities offered by Comerica.
Observe how new business is generated through referrals, prospecting and networking.
Position Qualifications
College level of Junior or Senior Status
Accounting, Finance, Business or similar field of study
Overall GPA of 3.5 or above
One Accounting course completed
Six months experience Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience preparing financial models and forecasts preferred
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and technical aptitude
Time management skills, attention to detail and ability to handle multiple assignments
Strong work ethic, customer-focus, and commitment to the communities we serve
Work Best Category: Category C - Days in the office will either be designated days or will vary week to week from 2-5 days Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Salary: To Be Determined Based on Individual Experience
