GENERAL SUMMARY
The purpose of this job is to enhance the quality of life for older adults by coordinating and facilitating programs and services that promote social connection, wellness and lifelong learning. Plays role in connecting the organization with the community, fostering relationships and promoting engagement. Approximately 20 hours per week. Flexible scheduling - some evening and weekend hours will be required. Starting wage $17.66/hour.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this position. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.
- Under the guidance of Executive Director, develops and distributes brochures, flyers and promotional literature.
- Under the guidance of Executive Director, develops and distributes monthly activity calendars.
- Under the guidance of the Executive Director, develops and distributes quarterly newsletters.
- Creates and maintains targeted distribution and mailing lists.
- Organizes and coordinates entertainment, special events and recreational activities for senior citizens. Modifies activities to abilities of participants.
- Organizes and coordinates wellness activities and classes for senior citizens. Modifies activities to abilities of participants.
- Plans and attends a minimum of four field trips for senior citizens within Barry County and the surrounding area annually.
- Assists field trip participants in completing release forms prior to departure of trip. Maintains forms in agency file and takes copies along on trips.
- Supports Site Coordinators, as needed, with time and supplies.
- Assists with outreach efforts through various channels, including social media, email campaigns, workshops, community presentations, and networking events. Weekend and evening hours required.
- Collaborates with Executive Director to ensure alignment of outreach efforts with organizational goals and priorities.
- Assists with all fundraising activities for the organization. Coordinates volunteers involved in fundraising activities, as needed.
- Assists in decorating the building for holidays and special events.
- Attends Project Advisory Council meetings and other meetings and workshops as requested by management.
- Performs related work as required.
