As a Family Reunification Team Leader within the Family Reunification program at Wellspring, you’ll be part of a team of social workers committed to helping families throughout Northern Michigan, including Ogemaw, Alcona, Alpena, Iosco, Montmorency, Roscommon, Oscoda, and Presque Isle counties. In this position, you'll be directly supporting communities across the region to help families get the resources they need. You will bring experience working with children and families and will hold a bachelor's or master's degree in social work or a related human services field.
As a Family Reunification Team Leader, you will:
- Adhere to the Family Reunification Program model of service (strength-based, solution focused approach).
- Develop treatment plan, goals and activities, with the family and Family Worker. Coordinate the implementation of the treatment plan with assigned Family Workers.
- Provide professional therapeutic intervention sessions, with the family and/or individual family members based on individual needs.
- Provide skills training, including but not limited to; parental resilience, social connections and concrete support, child development, social and emotional competence of children, nurturing and attachment and infant safe sleep.
- Refer families/make collateral contacts to community services including but not limited to: Early On, domestic violence, mental health and substance abuse counseling based on the needs of the family.
- Assumes primary responsibility for preparation of reports in conjunction with the Family Worker (service plans, progress reports, termination summaries, case notes, time sheets, letters, etc.) within the appropriate time frame.
- Document the use of solution-focused interviewing techniques and positive, empowering, strength-based language in communication with the family.
- Prepares for and presents testimony as needed for court.
- Plan and develop quarterly workshop ideas and quarterly family activities.
- Maintain face to face contact with families according to the contract defined frequency and the individual needs of each family by keeping a flexible work schedule and providing twenty-four (24) hour/7 days week availability.
- Complete follow-up evaluations of families at 6 and 12 months in the specified time frame.
