The Administrative Assistant-Safety Department reports directly to our Safety Director and is responsible to work with the safety team to ensure trucking divisions are in compliance with all local and federal state laws and regulations along with company policies. Assists with the preparation and completion, and review of regulatory and compliance documents, and filing same. The position assists in ensuring we maintain our reputable safety scores. The position will also be responsible for assisting in the maintenance of compliant files and records. This position requires a familiarity with various generally recognized workplace safety, transportation safety programs, OSHA, DOT and FMCSA regulatory compliance systems.

Administrative Assistant-Safety Department Responsibilities:
- Assists in managing internal and external compliance reporting, providing compliance advice and assistance, conducting compliance investigations, manage on-going education program.
- Monitor and assist in enforcement of DOT, OSHA, and FMCSA regulations to ensure compliance.
- Responsible for assisting in the monitoring of all compliance regarding tasks associated with driver Qualifications, medical cards/physicals, licenses, and annual driving records.
- Assist in administering pre-employment drug screens and FMCSA clearinghouse.
- Assist with vehicle accident claims.
- Assist with conducting daily audits of drivers to ensure compliance and productivity through a fleet management and tracking software system.
- Track monthly safety training topics and meetings for commercial and non-commercial drivers.
- Assist with coordination of inspections, assessments, surveys, and program evaluations to identify potential hazards, and ensures compliance with all applicable safety and compliance requirements.
- Scanning, filing, and emailing appropriate paperwork
- Using USPS to send mailings
- Practice oversight of the large vehicle fleet safety program and help perform required periodic record checks.
- Driver orientations to include driver qualification forms, handbook, and FMCSA videos.
- Assist with PPE and first aid supplies for shop and drivers.
