QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education or related.
- Possess a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education.
- MI/NCLB Highly Qualified Teacher Status.
- Must successfully complete required fingerprinting and background check.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Love of teaching to and learning from elementary school students.
- Team player willing to work cooperatively with colleagues.
- Ability to develop respect-based relationships with students and parents.
- Willingness to become a member of a close-knit school family
DUTIES: An elementary teacher is responsible to create and implement hands-on lessons for students to engage in that follow the State Core Curriculum Content Standards for all subjects while maintaining strong classroom management and forming positive relationships with students. MPS currently uses Book Worm reading curriculum and Math Expressions math curriculum, teachers are expected to fully utilize these curriculums. The instructor shall be an integral part of the elementary school team and shall take part in all staff professional development offerings as well as working with colleagues to design mechanisms for program growth, development, and evaluation. The Instructor also maintains a cooperative attitude with staff, parents, and students.

BEGINNING DATE: November 4, 2024 or As Soon As Possible Thereafter
SALARY AND BENEFITS: Per MPS Teacher Contract
