Position Summary: Responsible for 24-hour operation of the clinical department through interaction with all shifts. Ensures the clinical department is operating in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations as well as company and department policies and procedures. This is a full-time position with hourly rate of pay ranging $28 to $32 per hour.
Basic Objectives and Responsibilities - The position is charged with the responsibility to ensure that the highest quality of care is delivered consistently to the resident population via the following tasks:
1. Oversees, directs, and coordinates clinical staff to provide proper resident care consistent with the resident’s care plan.
2. Ensures self and staff are compliant with company policies and standards, departmental policies and standards, and local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations.
3. Oversees, directs, and coordinates clinical staff to maintain accurate and detailed reports and records.
4. Writes, maintains, and approves clinical staff schedule and hours worked in accordance with company policies and procedures.
5. Issue corrective actions or disciplinary actions to any staff member not complying with company policies and standards, departmental policies and standards, and local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations.
6. Interviews potential new hires and ensures all pertinent documents are maintained in accordance with company, local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations upon hire of a new employee.
7. Ensures that all new clinical staff are adequately trained and oriented prior to being placed on the schedule.
8. Ensures through oversight and direction to staff that the workspace is kept clean, and the work environment is operable for all clinical staff.
9. Conducts and documents the monthly required employee education.
10. Maintain a professional but fun and pleasant work environment for staff and visitors.
11. Assist Admin with resident admission assessments to determine appropriateness for facility.
12. Communicate with other departments to coordinate resident care.
13. Interacts with health care and service providers such as physicians, home health, hospice, pharmacy, etc. to coordinate care and/ or services provided to residents.
14. Assesses resident’s conditions and vitals to determine and/or modify resident care plans.
15. Provide regular updates of resident care needs to the Administrator.
16. Participate in company events and celebrations.
17. Assist in shift work during high volume of shortages (typically due to illnesses) including on weekends and holidays when needed.
18. Participate in the on-call rotation for emergencies and major staffing escalations.
19. Assume some responsibilities of Administrator in his/her absence, as needed and directed.
20. Performs other duties as requested by the Administrator.
Physical Requirements:
1. Able to transfer a resident either alone or a two person assist.
2. Able to lift 50 pounds.
3. Have unlimited bending and stooping capacities.
4. Be able to pivot while bearing weight of resident.
5. Sighted to be able to read small print and handwriting.
6. Able to hear so to communicate over the phone or with other individuals/ groups.
