Position Summary:
The Department of Psychology at Central Michigan University (CMU ) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August, 2025. The successful candidate will join our School Psychology Programs as well as a department with 22 faculty members.
Responsibilities include (a) teaching graduate and undergraduate courses; (b) advising graduate and undergraduate student research; ( c) maintaining an independent program of scholarly research; and (d) providing service to the department, college, university, community, and profession.
Required Qualifications:
• Earned doctorate in school psychology by time of appointment.
• Evidence of or potential for an independent program of scholarly research related to school psychology.
• Evidence of successful teaching.
• Ability to peform the essential functions of the job, with or without accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Doctorate in school psychology from an APA -accredited program.
• Expertise in school-wide practices to promote learning; promoting safe and supportive schools; family, school, and community collaboration; and/or equitable practices for diverse learners.
• Experience teaching and advising at the graduate level.
• Evidence of or potential for securing external research funding.

About the Department:
The Department of Psychology at CMU houses graduate programs in experimental psychology, industrial-organizational psychology, and school psychology.
The School Psychology Programs at CMU are grounded in the scientist-practitioner tradition. Our Specialist Program is NASP -approved, and our Doctoral Program is APA -accredited. Although we are phasing out our Doctoral Program over the next few years, we are currently focused on expanding capacity of and enrollment in our Specialist Program.
