STUDENT ATHLETE DEDICATED COUNSELOR

Position Summary:
Provides dedicated counseling services to CMU student athletes through the Counseling Center.
Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field.
Limited license in mental health field and working towards full license in three years or sooner.
Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and project a positive attitude.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision and seek consultation when needed.
Demonstrated commitment to inclusivity and diversity.
Strong work ethic.
Work well as part of a team.
Strong commitment to professional ethics.
Ability to perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Reports to the Executive Director of Counseling Services.
Provides counseling services in the Counseling Center.
Provides consultation and in-service training to Counseling Center staff as requested.
Provides individual and group counseling services, and crisis intervention to student athletes and other students as needed.
Attends Counseling Center staff case consultation, administrative and professional development meetings.
Participates in pre-participation screenings.
Provides consultation, educational outreach, and training programs to student athletes and athletic department coaches and staff as requested.
Work schedule may include some evening and weekend responsibilities.
Provide individual and group counseling and related services.
Communicate effectively.
Speak and interact with individuals, small groups of people, and large groups of people.
Work during normal business hours, 8 am – 5 pm, Monday through Friday, some evenings, and weekends.
Attend athletic events and related programs on or off campus at various times.
Other duties as assigned.

Pay Range: $48,190 - $59,771 based on 19 pays during the academic year
