·Serve as liaison to elected officials and key community stakeholders and groups to keep them well-informed of agency activities and priorities and advocate in support of JATA priorities with these jurisdictions, stakeholders and partners;
·Monitor, analyze and report on policy and political issues related to local governments and community stakeholder groups;
·Manage and implement EEO and DBE plans and programs.
•Manages interactions between JATA and local and regional news media; proactively works to secure positive and accurate news coverage of the Agency; reacts to questions, incidents and all other issues that surface involving news media. Develops and executes communications strategy on high-profile as well as routine issues facing the Agency.
·Manages the conception, writing and editing of clear and persuasive materials including marketing pieces, news releases, website information, PowerPoint presentations, talking points, speeches, fact sheets, letters, brochures, executive summaries and opinion columns; provides writing and editing expertise to all departments for internal and external communication pieces; collaborates closely with departments to create useful materials.
·Initiates, coordinates and implements projects related to content, design and structural improvements to the agency Web site and social networking sites
·Researches, writes and develops grant proposals for the Agency.
·Establishes and maintains grant administrative processes and procedures for the Agency, advising the Agency on grant requirements, compliance and opportunities.
·Other tasks assigned by the Executive Director.
