·Manage the daily operation of the Maintenance Department
·Development and implementation of Maintenance programs
·Schedule all periodic preventative and daily maintenance for all vehicles
·Supervision of Mechanics and Utility workers (Safety and Productivity)
·Supervise and assist mechanics in all phases of problem diagnosis and repairs
·Supervise and assist in all phases of paint and body reconditioning
·Coordinate activities between JATA and the State of Michigan Technical Section
·Interface with management concerning all facets of vehicle maintenance
·Coordinate the warranty activities on all new vehicles and equipment with parts clerk
·Coordinate the contract maintenance of vehicles owned by other agencies
·Monitor maintenance budget
·Interview and recruit new maintenance employees for hire
·Scheduling of maintenance staff
·Planning of program revisions for vehicles and equipment specifications, and adjustments
·Provide for or supervise the acquisition of parts and supplies for vehicles
·Supervise parts inventory control
· Assist management in the selection and acquisition of equipment and vehicles
·Provide on the job training for mechanics and apprentice mechanics
·Manage all building and grounds needs for Main Facility and Transfer Center and Bus Shelters
·Other duties as assigned by Executive Director
·Provides support to the Agency Operations Manager on matters as directed; participates on any required committees as assigned; prepares and presents staff reports; applies consistently and effectively the agencies policies and procedures, rules and regulations.
