BASIC FUNCTION: Supervises yard/warehouse/shop workers in the receiving, stocking, pulling, machining, and loading of merchandise. May personally perform duties listed. Helps keep yard and shop maintained well, clean, organized and safe.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Unloads or oversees the unloading and storage of incoming lumber/plywood/retail merchandise. Ensures merchandise received matches orders. Specifies which packs are to be inspected before release for sale. Monitors receiving process to confirm proper tests are run on incoming lumber inventory.

Supervises and trains Yard/Warehouse/Shop Workers.

Maintains a clean, organized, and safe yard/shop environment including warehouses, fences and open areas..

Organizes yard and warehouse layout according to merchandise needs.

Completes required inspections and forms. Ensures preventative and operational maintenance is performed.

Oversees lumber/plywood inventories and effects inventory adjustments in all databases, as needed, to maintain accuracy.

Monitors lumber/plywood inventory accuracy and reports all inconsistencies to Operations Manager.

Ensures compliance with operational safety and security policies and procedures.

Maintains accurate inventory counts. Monitors mix of products in each warehouse and adjusts inventory locations in cooperation with Operations Manager.

Supervises/Develops Company daily delivery schedules and modifications as well as delivery maps.

Fills duties and responsibilities of absent staff members as needed.

Attends and participates in all Company-sponsored training programs as required.

Carries out Foreman responsibilities in collaboration with Operations Manager: interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems; maintains and develops yard processes; continuously measures performance of yard processes.

Insures proper staffing levels and assignments based upon operational needs, including scheduling overtime for staff and self.

Other responsibilities as assigned by Operations Manager.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
EXPERIENCE: One to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
