Systems Control is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer Co-op to become a part of our Integrated Substation Solutions team - January - May 2025. As Manufacturing Engineer Co-op, you will support our Manufacturing, Design, and Engineering Teams in our world-class facility. A Day In The Life
Assist manufacturing with implementation of safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvements
Design fixtures, carts, and tooling
Research and justify new capital equipment using A3 methodology
Create methods for standard work procedures
Participate in Rapid Improvement (Kaizen) events
Recognize and help with problem solving efforts
Assist with preventative maintenance procedures
Work with design engineers to implement design changes
What will help you thrive in this role?
Pursuing a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or related field; 2nd year + preferred
Basics of manufacturing processes such as welding, metal cutting & forming, painting, assembly and serviceability.
Utilization of Lean Manufacturing concepts
3D modeling experience with AutoCAD or Creo is a plus
Mechanical/construction aptitude and hands-on design a plus
Experience in fixture design; part specific tables and tools to help with manufacturing practices
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to solve problems
Ability to take on multiple responsibilities and projects at once
Background in 3D printing is a plus
Ability to work in a team environment
