GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
As an IT Architect this position will be responsible for collaborating across teams to plan, design, and support various technologies and services. His or her responsibilities will range from global planning and project execution, to operational support. He or she will oversee the technical architecture by coordinating with senior engineers and managers to plan, implement, and support enterprise systems.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Help in the development of long-term strategic goals for storage servers and databases across the organization in conjunction with company objectives
Develop storage architectures based on capacity planning analysis and other needs assessments
Allocate storage to business units across the enterprise based on established requirements, available disk space, and future growt
Oversee the development of procedures for backups and restores, as well as monitor the performance, success, or failure of these tasks
Develop, implement, and maintain procedures for storage change management, availability management, backup management, and incident management
Recommend, install, and configure new and existing storage devices and corresponding software
Analyze storage equipment performance, collect information, and prepare summary reports
Develop, implement, and maintain testing process for current, new, and modified storage appliances and software
Respond to and resolve storage access problems, retrieval issues, storage device status, and other issues
Define, communicate, and enforce data storage retention policies and create routines for end-users to facilitate storage best practices, including desktop storage administration
Define and adhere to service level agreements with end-users regarding storage allocations, limitations, and availability
Ensure that information storage and retention measures and equipment adhere to all applicable laws and regulations
Manage and/or provide guidance to other members of the team
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree required, ability to work nights and weekends when required
5+ years of IT experience required.
Technical certifications, ITIL, PMP certifications preferred.
