Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is currently looking for a Battery Pack CAE Structural Analysis Engineer at our Superior Township, Michigan facility.
Responsibilities:
Ability to support battery pack structural CAE durability assessment with minimal supervision.
Perform cell, module and pack-level structure analysis for early design and verification of battery concepts components,
Perform, stiffness, strength and fatigue analyses and propose an optimized design changes with minimal mass penalty and optimal manufacturability.
Experience with Modal transient and vibration fatigue.
Prepare CAE models using CAD and material data as needed for battery FEA analysis.
Effectively communicate simulation findings to internal/external team members using the appropriate post processing tools.
Meet deadlines for structured product development timelines, quality and cost.
Collaborate with broader engineering team such as the design team and aerothermal team for structured design integration, new proposals, problem solving, and battery pack structural optimization.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
3+ years of experience with FEA linear, nonlinear, static, dynamic, explicit and implicit analysis.
3+ years of battery pack Engineering experience
High level of oral and written communication skills
Knowledge in structural engineering and, optimization.
Experienced in ANSA/BETA and HyperMesh/Altair as well as ABAQUS/Simulia, NASTRAN/MSC, and Optiostruct/Altair solvers.
Hands on programming tools such as Python and Matlab.
Valid Driver's License with satisfactory driving record
