Description
JR Automation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controls Engineering Manager to lead our team of talented engineers at our Stevensville, MI facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in controls engineering, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for innovation. This role is critical in ensuring the successful design, development, and implementation of automation systems for our clients.
What You'll Do:
Direct supervision of controls engineers and other staff
Assist with the successful management of engineering programs as they relate to cost, quality, safety, timing, and customer satisfaction.
Develop the Controls department through leadership, mentoring, and training of controls engineers, and other staff.
Manage staffing and workload issues, including managing direct, indirect and overtime hours as they relate to workload, budget, and timing.
Design, implement and document control systems for various types of automated equipment.
Conduct the electrical/hydraulic pneumatic design, peripheral device programming, machine PLC programming, coordinate the machine debug, power-up, and machine validation with the appropriate build, power, and design teams.
Ensure that equipment is designed and programmed to customer and/or JR Automation build specifications using standard techniques and approach.
Travel to customer sites for installation and startup of equipment; up to 25% travel expected yearly.

What You'll Bring:
Minimum of five years experience as controls engineer or robotics engineer in a leadership position.
Five years experience designing and implementing control systems in the industrial automation field
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations
