HORIZONS Conference Center is seeking a customer service superstar who is looking for an exciting hospitality career with growth potential. The Banquet Manager will be responsible for creating 100% customer satisfaction and achieving the company’s financial objectives through the implementation of service, production, and quality systems. They will coordinate and supervise the execution of all banquet functions to ensure that client specifications are adhered to, and that the client’s event runs smoothly and efficiently.
The successful candidate will be driven to provide world-class hospitality to all that they encounter and will have a good knowledge of food and beverage as well as service procedures. They will have the ability to perform all positions in banquet operations in order to supervise, lead and train all banquet personnel.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum education level of a high school diploma or equivalent level of education.
- 1 – 2 years of experience supervising multiple banquets at the same time or 3 – 4 years of seated restaurant service experience.
- Ability to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, and weekends.
- Strong customer service and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully building a successful team and leading a team through formal banquet service, including setup to teardown.
- Experience with leading a team in providing world-class customer service.
- Ability to communicate in written and verbal form in a clear and concise manner.
- Experience in training peers and team members in new processes and procedures.
- Demonstrated history of creating a safe and clean food & beverage environment.
- Ability to think creatively, to quickly evaluate alternatives and be decisive.
- History of providing overall direction, coordination, and ongoing evaluation of operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Implement established processes to achieve Results Statement.
- Manage all banquet operations to HORIZONS standards and customer satisfaction requirements.
- Analyze banquet event orders, communicate with clients, department managers, kitchen staff, and sales associates to ensure all room setup, equipment, supplies, staffing, and menus are executed.
- Supervise the clean-up and breakdown of banquet room. Account for all equipment and supplies and ensure they are returned to the appropriate storage areas.
- Complete pre-event and post-event checklists for each event.
- Leads pre-event and post-event meetings with banquet staff for each event.
- Complete Manager on Duty (MOD) report for each event.
- Complete Event Scheduling sheet with actual hours worked and attach to MOD report.
- Ensure beverage inventory report is completed for each event.
- Manage banquet staff hours to maximize profitability while ensuring quality presentations and a quality experience for banquet guests.
- Enforce utilization of the breakage report by staff.
- Coach, teach, and train staff on established systems to control waste and achieve efficient service.
- Ensure that all health and safety regulations are followed by staff and guests.
- Attend weekly operations meeting.
- Utilize the Problem Log to inform Food and Beverage Director of problems experienced with any process to support our desire for continual improvement.
- Ensure that all communication with guests and staff is professional in tone and content.
- Other duties as assigned.
