Description:
This is a Non-RN IBCLC position that supports the Trinity Health Ann Arbor (THAA) NICU and/or the Postpartum unit.
This position is a full-time, benefited role, scheduled 64 hours per bi-weekly pay period. Shifts will be on days or evenings with a weekend rotation. No Holidays or Nights.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The main clinical focus is assisting mothers and babies to breastfeed successfully.
The CLC functions as a member of a multi-disciplinary health care team.
Effectively communicates patient breastfeeding status, priority goals and interventions to colleagues and other disciplines through written (Lactation Assessment) and verbal methods.
Responds to and documents outside calls requesting breastfeeding information and support.
Assists breastfeeding mothers with infants in Pediatrics, the NICU, Labor and Delivery (L&D) and other SJMH units, in addition to the Mother Baby unit.
Works with the health care team to develop feeding plan and discharge planning related to breastfeeding plans.
MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Certification/Licensure: International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant
The Certified Lactation Consultant (CLC) is a health professional, who has obtained International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners certification (IBLCE).
Experience: The CLC is experienced with working with women and their newborns throughout the perinatal period.
Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
