Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The Clinical Dietitian plays a vital role in the healthcare team by providing medical nutrition therapy to patients with various disease states and conditions. This individual collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate medical and nutritional needs. The Clinical dietitian teaches patients how to make nutritionally sound food choices to speed the recovery process, prevent or treat disease, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in human nutrition, nutrition education, food and nutrition or related field.
Preferred/Optional: Master's or doctoral degree in human nutrition, nutrition education, food and nutrition or related field.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: None
Preferred/Optional: Experience working in a healthcare setting as a dietitian.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum Required: Registration eligible at time of hire; and Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with the Commission on Dietetic Registration required within three months of hire.
Preferred/Optional: Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with the Commission on Dietetic Registration & Certification from an applicable State at time of hire.
