Ast Professor in Studio Art Fixed Term
Position Summary
The Department of Art, Art History, and Design at Michigan State University is currently establishing a pool of fixed term assistant professors in studio art. These positions will be filled per course/per semester on an as-needed basis. Applicants in this pool are reviewed when the program has an immediate need to fill a vacancy within a two-year period. Positions could begin as early as August 16, 2024.
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in Studio Art. Courses include Drawing I; Color and Design; Three-Dimensional Form; 4D Time-Based Media; Advanced and Special Topics in Drawing; and/or selected courses in painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, electronic art, intermedia, and photography.
The current need in fall semester 2024 is 3D, Drawing, Color and Design, 4D, Advanced Drawing, and sculpture.

Required Degree
Doctorate -MFA
Minimum Requirements
- MFA in Studio Art or equivalent.
- Experience teaching at the college level.
