MTRI (www.mtri.org) is seeking a highly motivated, intellectually curious professional interested in conducting cutting-edge research in radar and systems engineering. This position requires collaboration with senior engineers and scientists to research, design, and evaluate algorithms for various signal- and image-processing applications related to radar remote sensing. Individuals will be developing an externally supported research portfolio while supporting multiple projects for government and commercial customers. A successful candidate will have a solid background in electrical engineering with an emphasis on radar modeling.
- Participate as an integral team member on multi-disciplinary research relating to applying technical skills to solve governmental and societal needs.
Provide technical, analytical, and numerical support for ongoing research and development projects in radar modeling, electrical engineering, and signal processing.
Design and implement signal processing and remote sensing algorithms in MATLAB, Python, or C/C++ programming languages.
Assist with the design and testing of printed circuit boards (PCBs) for ongoing research and development projects
Prepare and deliver reports or presentations of research projects/analysis results to project sponsors as appropriate.
Contribute to the generation of proposals and external funding.

Required Education, Certifications, Licensures
B.S. degree or higher in electrical engineering
Required Experience
- Experience in radar modeling and/or systems engineering
Experience in PCB design and testing
Experience managing projects and leading technical teams
Experience developing and implementing test procedures
Desirable Education and/or Experience
- Experience implementing algorithms in prototype software, such as MATLAB, Python, or C/C++
Experience with circuit modeling and simulation
Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities
- Must have active TS//SCI Department of Defense security clearance
Certified in Altium Designer
Knowledge and experience with the development and analysis of remote sensing systems such as CubeSats
Excellent interpersonal, oral/written, and presentation communication skills
Ability to take direction but work without continuous oversight
Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment with respect to significant matters related to job duties
