Position Summary:
The Pharmacy Technician is an integral part of the Home Infusion Department with a wide variety of responsibilities. Under the direct supervision and approval of a pharmacist, according to approved policies and procedures, performs assigned duties in the pharmacy for efficient preparation, distribution and billing of medications. Maintaining pharmacy inventory and preparing sterile products, for pharmacist verification. Follow up calls to patients as directed and participating in pharmacy quality assurance. The Pharmacy Technician reports to the Director of Home Infusion, or if unavailable, the Staff Pharmacist working in the Home Infusion Department.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Prepares sterile products consistently, accurately, and efficiently for pharmacist verification.

Orders pharmaceuticals, solutions, supplies, and equipment required as directed by pharmacist. Evaluates inventory on hand to ensure appropriate levels are maintained. Tracks and returns outdated or recalled medication for credit, when appropriate.
3.
Performs the receiving, stocking, and invoice checks; purchase order match functions. Updates quantities, lot numbers, expiration dates, and price changes in the computer system as directed by the pharmacist.

Required:
Current Michigan Pharmacy Technician Licensure (Full License with Certification)
High school diploma or equivalent
Must possess general clerical and typing skills
