Working with us, you will:
Work in specialized areas of technical design, evaluation and testing for exterior building enclosure systems: including roofs, walls, windows, curtain walls, skylights, and waterproofing
Produce reports and studies such as condition assessments, forensic investigations, hygrothermal analysis, and site observation reports
Prepare and coordinate architectural drawings, renderings, and design assignments to meet project requirements
Performs construction administration tasks by responding to RFI's, preparing sketches, and addenda, visiting construction sites to gather information and/or reviewing punch lists, and reviewing submittals
Revises, reviews, and coordinates construction documents
Communicates with project team, clients, vendors, contractors, and consultants
An ideal candidate has:
7 or more years of technical architectural experience, preferably in an Architectural or AE firm
A Registered Architect or Engineer preferred
Ability and interest in publishing and presenting within SmithGroupand professional organizations regarding our Studio practice areas
An interest in new computational tools, modeling, and evaluation processes for energy efficient design
Interested and/or experienced participating in field surveys, forensic investigations, and testing
Able to investigate and evaluate new materials and technologies using an organized process
Capable of working on multiple concurrent projects
Comfortable working from heights and experienced being onactive construction sites
Demonstrated effectiveness in leading and working in a team setting, communicating with others, customer satisfaction and technical excellence
Proficient with Microsoft Office and Revit programs
Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and time management skills
Ability to travel locally and nationally is required
Involvement in local or national professional associations preferred
Interest in building science, building enclosures, or building enclosure testing and experimentation
