Position Summary:
The Cybersecurity Engineer is a key member of the cybersecurity team, responsible for implementing and managing comprehensive security measures to safeguard the organization's digital assets. This role focuses on proactively identifying and mitigating security risks, conducting complex risk assessments, providing strategic guidance to enhance the overall security posture of the organization, and contributing to the development and enhancement of cybersecurity strategies and controls. The Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for maintaining a secure environment and minimizing potential risks through proactive security measures.
Essential Functions:
Security Strategy and Leadership:
Provide strategic leadership in the development and execution of cybersecurity strategies, policies, and frameworks.
Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align cybersecurity initiatives with organizational goals and objectives.
Stay updated with emerging cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to provide expert guidance and recommendations.
Security Controls Implementation and Management:
Design and implement robust cybersecurity controls, including firewalls, zero trust network solutions, encryption mechanisms, and access controls.
Manage and maintain security tools and technologies, ensuring their optimal performance and effectiveness.
Conduct security assessments and audits to identify gaps in security controls and recommend appropriate enhancements.
Risk Assessment and Management:
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify security risks and vulnerabilities.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, including the prioritization and remediation of identified risks.
Stay abreast of emerging cybersecurity threats and industry best practices to proactively mitigate risks.
Security Strategy and Policy Development:
Contribute to the development and enhancement of cybersecurity strategies, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, regulations, and legal requirements.
Provide guidance and expertise to ensure cybersecurity policies align with organizational objectives and industry trends.
Security Awareness and Training:
Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to develop and deliver security awareness programs and training sessions.
Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to promote a culture of cybersecurity awareness and adherence to best practices.
Design and lead security awareness programs and training sessions
Support other cybersecurity initiatives and projects as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills:
Must have 3+ years experience in IT or cybersecurity related position
Experience with ZScaler or Zero Trust solutions preferred
Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices.
In-depth knowledge of security controls and technologies, such as SIEM, EDR, NDR, IDS/IPS, DLP, Zero Trust, and Security Attack surface management.
Proficiency in conducting risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.
Proficient understanding of network protocols, systems, and architectures.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex security issues and develop effective solutions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Must have good customer service and time management skills.
Ability to develop solutions to a variety of complex problems, and reference established precedents and policies.
