Description
The Total Rewards Specialist is responsible for the administration of the company's total rewards programs, ensuring they are competitive, cost-effective, and compliant with legal regulations. This role involves working closely with employees, and external vendors to provide high-quality benefits that align with the company's goals and employee needs. You will be part of our small HR team and will need to be flexible and nimble to assist in projects outside of total rewards as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
Benefits Administration:
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to benefits, providing consistent and accurate information, resolve employee questions or issues and escalate more complex issues as necessary.
Manage the day-to-day administration of total rewards portfolio including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, and other perks
Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations while working with payroll to ensure accurate processing
Coordinate and conduct benefits orientations and explain the enrollment process
Assist in the annual open enrollment process, including assisting in the development of benefit strategies and developing communications materials that explain benefits options and changes to employees.
Identify opportunities for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of benefits administration processes including collaborating with stakeholder to implement improvements and workflows
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure benefits programs comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements (e.g., ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, ACA).
Maintain accurate records of benefits-related data, including enrollment, claims, and financials.
Manage the preparation and submission of government-mandated reports, such as the Form 5500, and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
Assist with audits of benefits programs and recommend improvements.
Vendor Management:
Collaborate with external vendors to ensure high-quality service delivery, gather data, resolve discrepancies, and ensure the accuracy of benefits-related information.
Evaluate vendor performance and recommend changes or enhancements to services.
Review vendor contracts, negotiate renewals, and participate in vendor selection as needed.
HR Business Partner Support:
Support other members of HR team and participate in special HR projects as necessary
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
2-5 years of experience in benefits administration, preferably in a corporate environment.
Strong knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Proficiency in Workday systems and Microsoft Office Suite especially excel.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with different departments and levels of employees.
Proactive approach to benefits administration with a focus on continuous improvement.
This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Pay Transparency Disclosure:
The estimated base salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000.
The final salary offering will considera wide range of factors, including experience, accomplishments and location. The salary range provided should not be considered as a salary limit or cap. In addition to base salary, Crain also offers competitive benefits including retirement plan savings contributions and bonus opportunities based on individual and company performance.
