DESCRIPTION:
Under general direction, completes a variety of moderately complex and specialized compensation functions and analyses. Researches, gathers and analyzes market data to determine appropriate pay levels and grade assignments. Analyzes jobs, reviews job descriptions and specifications and applies job evaluation techniques to ensure compensation recommendations are market competitive and internally equitable. Analyzes government regulations and company policies to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of compensation recommendations and guidance. Works with other Compensation team members on a variety of projects including conducting analyses associated with annual pay structure reviews, participating in a variety of salary surveys and support for the administration of incentive compensation programs. May also provide support to the provision of physician market data. Responds to a variety of requests for compensation information or guidance.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Researches MarketyPay to compile detailed wage, salary and pay practice information. Assists in the collection and analysis of market data for use in the annual review and update of wage and salary structures or ad hoc job evaluation and pay range reviews.
Responds to a variety of requests from various HR Business Partners, Talent Selection Specialists and Operational Leaders pertaining to market data for clinical, non-clinical and leadership jobs across HFHS. Makes compensation recommendations on a variety of candidate offers and internal movements.
Coordinates activities pertaining to compensation reviews. Working with HR Business Partners, Operational Leaders and members of the Corporate
Compensation team, determines positions to be included in analyses, and compiles appropriate market data and other related information. Provides compensation analysis and recommendations and tracks all activities to ensure that job assignment objectives are met. Assists in a wide variety of evaluation of jobs across the HFHS system, including applicable FLSA status.
Maintains databases, electronic and written documentation on jobs, applicable market data and pay structures.
Completes compensation surveys as needed, which require familiarity with individual jobs, the organization of work in the departments, organizations as well as knowledge of departmental record/reports and other sources of information. Tracks survey assignments, due dates, and contacts.
Responds to Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) inquires as they pertain to the compensation function and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
May assist in providing updated data as it relates to physician Fair Market Value (FMV).
Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, HFHS Compliance Program, Standards of Conduct, ethics, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.
Minimum 1 - 2 years Compensation, Human Resources or Finance experience which includes general data analysis, costing, employee impact analysis, running queries for data collection purposes, research, critical thinking, data analysis, etc.
Experience in the healthcare industry highly desirable.
Must possess proficiency in technical skills (e.g., Excel, Word, e-compensation/HR software, etc.).
Strong critical thinking, analytical and modeling skills to track and recognize compensation trends, to recognize patterns and issues in sets of data, ascertain relevant and irrelevant data when conducting analytical work and to compile and analyze market data.
Must possess effective written and verbal communications skills to obtain and exchange factual and technical data and communicate analysis and results in a manner that is appropriate to the customers served.
Analytical skill and judgment to recognize and analyze general and unique compensation issues and to understand complex organizational relationships. Must possess the ability to keep confidential, private or sensitive information in confidence.
Must possess the ability to work in a team environment and support the goals of HFHS and the department.
Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
