Our client is both a Fortune 200 company and a leader in their industry. Due to a recent promotion they are looking to hire a senior accountant analyst who thrives using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, SQL to look at processes, optimize reporting and systems and embraces these tools for the betterment of the team.
Responsibilities
Analyze financial information to ensure transactions are processed accurately in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Record complex monthly journal entries in SAP in line with corporate timelines.
Comply with accounting controls and procedures, leading strategic accounting functions when necessary.
Reconcile general ledger accounts in a timely manner to ensure accuracy.
Report and analyze business performance, providing insightful information for decision making.
Conduct variance analysis on various financial reporting views to identify and explain deviations from expected results.
Respond to requests for deliverables from internal/external auditors and other departments within the Controller's Organization.
Prepare data for external reporting purposes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Monitor work practices and utilize continuous improvement and lean systems methodology to drive out costs, coordinating continuous improvement initiatives, cross-functional teams, and projects.
Create or update documentation of accounting processes and procedures to ensure clarity and consistency.
Use your skills in Balance Sheet Reconciliation, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, SAP, Derivative Accounting, and Ad Hoc Financial Analysis to effectively fulfill your duties.

Requirements - Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the Utilities/Infrastructure industry
Proficiency in Balance Sheet Reconciliation, General Ledger maintenance, and Journal Entries is required
Expertise in Microsoft Excel is essential for data analysis and report generation
Demonstrated experience with Month End Close procedures is necessary
Familiarity with SAP for managing financial transactions and reporting
Understanding of Derivative Accounting principles and practices
Capability to perform Ad Hoc Financial Analysis to support strategic decision-making
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
Professional certification such as CPA is desirable
Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
