JOB DUTIES: Manage consulting projects for clients in the automotive industry, with primary responsibility for client satisfaction, team excellence, and delivery on time and to budget. Provide technical expertise to optimize our clients’ business operations with projects focused on electric vehicle (EV) and autonomous portfolio strategy and business models; shifting consumer vehicle ownership experience (CaaS); sustainable footprint and operations re-design; automotive software strategy; EV battery strategies for vehicle manufacturers and suppliers; EV charging infrastructure and grid integration (V2G); digital aftersales transformation and data monetization; next generation manufacturing; and organic and in-organic growth strategy. Manage day- to-day client relations. Structure the problem-solving process, develop project schedules, and assign work to team members. Control project budget. Support lead generation and project acquisition with proposal preparation and presentation. Provide topical expertise and intellectual leadership to project teams. Mentor junior staff and participate in recruitment, training, and marketing.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Business Administration, Mechanical/Manufacturing/Electrical Engineering, or related field, and six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered, or as Consultant, Project Engineer or related. Alternatively, employer will accept a Master’s degree and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related. Full term experience must include each of the following: Delivering presentations (written and oral) to automotive and industrial clients based on quantitative analysis to propose operational and product design improvements; Project management and execution experience in delivering operational strategy (make vs buy, component commonization strategy, technology trade-off studies) and cost optimization engagements (should-cost and profitability assessments); Leading teams to deliver projects to automotive and industrial clients; Developing financial models to evaluate business case for automotive powertrains (Internal combustion engines, Lithium-ion batteries, e-motors, power electronics) applying experience with manufacturing and supply chain set-up and overall cost-structure; Supporting business development and intellectual capital activities (e.g., proposal development, recruiting, event organization and moderation, training); and Developing project structure and formulate solutions. Remote work permitted within commuting distance.
Up to 60% travel required to client worksites and offices domestically and/or internationally.
