We are seeking 1 part time caregiver to assist with private duty care in Ann Arbor, MI. Transporting the client into the community is one of key components of this position as well as ensuring comfort, safety, and compliance with legal and organizational requirements.
Our role offers fixed hours, however there are further hours to pick at our sites in Howell, MI.
The individual must have availability to work the following schedule below:
- Monday 3p-9p/ Tuesday 3p-9p/ Friday 3p-9p/ Rotating Weekends 3p-9p
Now come make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals overcoming social, cognitive, emotional, and physical barriers. As a caregiver, you'll provide crucial support, from assisting with daily activities to managing challenging behaviors with empathy and professionalism.
Areas & Responsibilities:
- Personal Care: Assist individuals with daily routines such as bathing, dressing, and eating, ensuring their health and safety.
- Support Services: Follow individual care plans to provide nutritional support, meal planning, mobility assistance, and housekeeping, fostering independence and well-being.
- Emergency Response: Identify and respond swiftly to emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of those under your care.
- Healthcare Assistance: Aid with medication management, accompany individuals to medical appointments, and maintain accurate records of health-related activities.
- Administrative Tasks: Complete required paperwork promptly and accurately, contributing to efficient operations.
- Additional Duties: Flexibility is key – you'll assist with tasks as assigned, contributing to the smooth functioning of our programs. Must be comfortable coordinating client(s) into community.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Prior direct care experience or enrollment in a healthcare-related program is preferred but not required.
- Skills & Abilities: Strong communication skills, physical capability for caregiving tasks, and a commitment to ethical conduct and client-centered care.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Transportation: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation necessary; transportation staff subject to screening.
Physical Demands:
Job duties include regular talking and hearing, occasional standing, walking, sitting, manual tasks, reaching, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crawling. Occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs may be required. Specific vision abilities needed include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated on a case-by-case basis.
