Position: Engagement Coordinator – Full Time
Position Reports To: Vice President/COO
Salary & Benefits: Salary range - $45,000 - $50,000 based on experience; benefits include full medical with HSA, dental and vision insurance; life insurance with short and long term disability; simple IRA matching plan; PTO and vacation hours.
Responsibilities:
Team Commitment:
- Work mindfully and purposefully as a member of the Shelter of Flint team to create an environment of respect, inclusion, learning and productivity.
- Abide by and uphold all policies and procedures, professional codes of conduct, and required guidelines for conduct when working with vulnerable populations.
- Participate in individual and group scheduled supervision as ways to increase competencies, work toward professional goals and contribute to the learning environment.
- Attend supervision meetings, periodic staff training and all-agency staff meetings.
- Participate as indicated, in all site visits and audits.
Fundraising
· Coordinate annual giving program, utilizing direct mail and other modes of communication
· Coordinate peer-to-peer fundraising program
· Evaluate and engage in donor acquisition strategies
· Conduct regular data analysis to inform fundraising efforts
· Assist with the preparation and submission of grant proposals as needed
· Assist with the preparation and submission of grant reports as needed
Stewardship
· Develop and manage a robust stewardship program which includes annual reports, newsletters, meaningful gift acknowledgements, thank you events, and giving societies
· Plan and manage stewardship events
· Manage donor database
Event Planning
· Plan and coordinate agency fundraising events (currently a walk, an online auction, and a luncheon)
· Secure corporate sponsorships and table captains
· Promote attendance
Communications
· Develop and implement a communications plan that complements stewardship efforts and maximizes fundraising potential and includes an annual report, e-newsletters, and other targeted pieces
· Develop, implement, and manage a social media and media strategy to maximize support
· Develop and manage a speaker’s bureau
· Manage website
· Serve as agency spokesperson as directed
General
· Work cooperatively with program staff to gather client stories
· Coordinate Adopt-a-Family program
· Serve as point of contact for in-kind giving
Applicant Requirements:
Associate’s degree from an accredited institution (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
3 years of relevant experience
Exemplary organizational skills
Impeccable communication skills, especially written
Comfortable soliciting support via phone, email, and in-person
Ability to work independently
Demonstrated creativity
Excellent computer skills
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of local philanthropy
Proficient with social media
Experience with constituent relationship management software, especially DonorPerfect
Knowledge of peer-to-peer fundraising models
Knowledge of effective stewardship programs
