Cargill, Inc. seeks Senior Process Safety Engineer in Lake Odessa, MI.
JOB DUTIES:
Responsible for applying technical knowledge of process safety management to develop, improve, and oversee business and corporate standards to handle hazardous processes across multiple ammonia refrigeration facilities.
Specific duties include:
(1) Working across multiple sites to provide technical knowledge and assistance to ensure consistent implementation of process safety standards;
(2) Partnering with facility engineering, maintenance, and safety teams to participate in developing strategies to deploy, implement, and sustain corporate process safety risk management standards and ensure prevention of serious process safety events;
(3) Managing and directly overseeing the process safety programs of multiple facilities including process hazard analysis, audit, management of change, incident investigation, and process safety information;
(4) Providing technical, regulatory, and strategic consultation, support, and training on safety risk management requirements and tools to help build a strong process safety risk management culture;
(5) Using experienced knowledge to deliver guidance related to process safety practices;
(6) Collaborating with domain and technology teams to deploy technologies that can help achieve objectives and best practices in process safety;
(7) Collaborating with regional process safety leadership, and evaluating and assessing the performance of the corporate process safety standards;
(8) Tracking site process safety performance through internal auditing and measuring.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering;
2 years of process safety engineering experience, including specific experience managing process safety programs across multiple unit operations or multiple facilities, and working in ammonia refrigeration facilities.
Frequent overnight travel required to Cargill facilities in Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Nebraska, and Mexico.
