Job Title: 8610 Military Direct Hire

Job Description
This opportunity is a direct hire position specifically designed for former Military Personnel who possess a signed 8610-2 application from an FSDO. Candidates will undergo a phone interview and, upon approval, will progress through the standard onboarding process which typically lasts around 2 weeks. Trainees will be scheduled for an induction Monday start class and enrolled for the next available A&P training class with the Global School of Aeronautics in Alabama or Georgia. This 10-day training course culminates with testing for an A&P license. Accommodations are provided for the duration of the program. Trainees will earn $28/hr for induction and training. After obtaining their license, compensation increases to at least $30/hr. Note that if a trainee does not stay with the company for at least 2 years, they will be required to repay the value of the training and testing ($5,500). As an Aircraft Mechanic, you will be accountable for the completion of all assigned work in accordance with company policies, procedures, government requirements, and manufacturers' specifications as detailed in approved technical publications. Aircraft experience, particularly with the Boeing family, is preferred, and experience with Aircraft Door and Window Rigging is a plus.

Work Environment
The work environment consists of CVG Hangar or Line Maintenance. The role frequently requires standing, walking, utilizing hand and finger dexterity, climbing, balancing, bending, or crawling, occasionally from heights in precarious places. You will frequently lift/push/carry items up to 50 pounds. Be aware that you will be working near and around moving mechanical parts, around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals, and exposure to loud noises. You will need to operate equipment and read technical information. Expect exposure to weather conditions outside as well as non-weather conditions such as extreme heat or cold.
