- Have a minimum of an Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting or a closely related field; AND have one (1) year of work experience in bookkeeping, accounting, patient registration, medical/behavior health billing or coding;
OR
Must be a high school graduate or have successfully completed the General Educational Development Test (GED); AND have two (2) years’ of work experience in bookkeeping, accounting, patient registration, medical/behavior health billing or coding.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a Michigan Driver License within 30 days of employment.
- Must have reliable transportation that may have to be used to carry out job duties of this classification.
Preferred but not Required
- A course in coding or experience in billing/coding is desired, but not required.
- Bilingual candidates highly desired.
- Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued.
- Individuals in Recovery and individuals with experience in Armed Services valued.
