Overview
Effectively plans and implements work for assigned production department ensuring parts or materials and manpower are available for the department to perform the work. Requires knowledge, skill and ability to perform and fill in for any position on the production line and can perform equipment setups.
**Pay commensurate with experience**
**2nd shift premium = $1.50 p/hr.**
**Shift schedule is 4 - 10 hr. days, Mon. through Thurs. (2pm - 12/midnight) and Fri. & Sat. overtime, as needed**
**Need to be flexible with work schedule**
**$1,000 sign-on Bonus**

Responsibilities
Oversees efficient flow of product; striving to make sure component parts, containers and production supplies are always at the work center to eliminate any production stoppage.
Responsible for product quality and workmanship of the department.
Assists with developing and implementing corrective actions that will drive positive KPI performance.
Organizes and assigns work; and if necessary, train employees to ensure performance standards are met.
Anticipates production delays, material shortages, equipment malfunctions, etc. and where feasible devises and implements procedures to offset loss of labor hours and schedule interruptions.
Communicates necessary repairs of equipment to avoid excessive downtime.
Monitors use of safety devices, equipment, departmental housekeeping, and maintain constant alert for hazardous conditions. Ensures proper safety behaviors are being followed.
Ensures appropriate paperwork is properly completed for effective process tracking to support Quality and continuous improvement efforts.
Assists mentors with Operator training as needed.
Initiates communication with appropriate personnel when input/help is needed on production or quality issues.
Works with department Supervisor to maintain conformance with Company policies and procedures. Participates in disciplinary measures as appropriate.
Provides input on employee performance and training opportunities.
Serves as a back up to the Production Supervisor as needed.

Education / Experience
High school diploma or equivalent education and experience. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a preparatory position of similar work.
Must be able to use scales, measurement instruments such as calipers and cad plots and perform SPC.
Language Ability
Ability to read and comprehend simple instruction, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situation.
