Job Function: The Teacher shall serve as the educational leader in his/her classroom. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning. 2. Develop schemes of work, lesson plans and tests that are in accordance with the district provided curriculum. Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment. 3. Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction. 4. Establish classroom a structure that values positive relationships through intentional implementation of the district curriculum. 5. Support non-academic needs, through the student support network district system, of all students in order to remove barriers that interfere with academic success. 6. Provide appropriate feedback on student work. 7. Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies. 8. Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development. 9. Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies and school regulations. 10. Prepare required reports on students and activities. 11. Participate in department, school, district and parent meetings. 12. Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs. 13. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities. 14. Prepare classroom for class activities. 15. Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities. 16. Observe and evaluate student's performance and development. 17. Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments.
