GENERAL JOB FUNCTION: The primary functions of this position are to provide outdoor education coaching on curricular alignment in all academic areas of supplemental instruction and assessment in order to ensure highly effective and individualized instruction. The Outdoor Education Coach will assist staff in monitoring and improving student deficiencies in science and social studies skills by setting up hands on and aligned units. He/she will ensure that systems of alignment are systematic, focused and intensive, applied with integrity and quality as designed for positive gains and results; sustained long enough to deliver success; and are comprehensive and highly coordinated with full collaboration from the classroom teachers and interventionists. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. In cooperation with the classroom teachers, coach on best practices for integrating outdoor education learning into core curricular subjects. 2. Ensure that systems of integration are systematic, focused and intensive, applied with integrity and quality as designed for positive gains and results; sustained long enough to deliver success; and are comprehensive and highly coordinated with full collaboration from the classroom teachers and interventionists. 3. Provide training and coaching for teachers and interventionists on focused and appropriate strategies for Outdoor Education Implementation. 4. Provide focused feedback in writing for teachers and interventionists. 5. Ability to lead colleagues through change and engage in healthy conflict by developing a sustainable collaborative community. 6. Coaching on cross curricular development with reading and math integration.
