POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking responsible, dependable, empowering self-starters with a desire to positively impact the lives of others. This position supports and assists adults with a developmental disability and/or mental illness in the Intensive/Transitional Support Program. Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans and behavior management plans as established by an interdisciplinary team. Responsible for modeling appropriate behavior; monitoring, observation, and assessment; crisis intervention, prevention, and utilizing de-escalation strategies; and maintaining a healthy and safe environment. Additional support may include assisting in personal care and guiding skill development in daily tasks of living. Responsible for respecting the rights and dignities of the individuals we serve. Position requires patience, critical thinking skills and decision-making ability.
SCHEDULE OPTIONS:
- 10-hour shift
- 12-hour shift
- 4-hour shift
- 8-hour shift
- On call
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record. (On occasion, a position may become available where driving is not necessary).
- Ability to initiate and communicate effectively using positive, proactive language.
- Technical and descriptive writing skills.
- Demonstrated independent decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Reliable transportation.
- One year experience in mental health working with individuals with challenging behaviors.
PREFERENCES:
- One-year related education.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
