Job Title: Masters Swim Coach
Reports to: Aquatics Director
Status: Part Time
Compensation: $20/hr. base pay or $22/hr. Master Coach Certified
Position Summary:
The Masters Swim Coach will be responsible for growing and developing the Masters Swim program, encouraging participation and progress. As well as designing and implementing weekly swim workouts for Masters swimmers.
Coaching Duties:
- Set goals and develop a seasonal plan for the club
- Help swimmers set individual goals and monitor process
- Create and coach workouts
- Offer stroke development clinics with video filming options
- Attend continuing education offerings for swimming coaches
Summary of Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2 years of coaching experience.
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- Current membership in USMS*
- Understanding of the rules of USMS* and YMCA.
- Minimum of Level 2 Masters coach certificate* (or will obtain within 6 months).
- Demonstrate proficiency in teaching stroke development, stroke correction, and proper technique.
- Safety training for coaches or lifeguard certification including CPR, first aid, and AED.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent writing, listening, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to make clear recommendations and decisions
