Position Summary:
The Benefits Coordinator provides administrative support to the Benefits team by performing various administrative duties related to maintaining and verifying confidential information for benefit records and reports.

In this Role:
Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting Gun Lake Casino Resort's "Unsurpassed Service" standards at all times.
Maintain a detailed database of all Team Members in the department.
Provide administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the Human Resources Office.
Understand, adhere to, and support the Benefits Team in the administration of Gun Lake Casino Resort's benefits program including, but not limited to, health plan including medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance; 401(k) plan, voluntary benefits, Section 125 plan, worker's compensation, tuition reimbursement, Sunshine Fund, and the employee assistance program.
Assist in timely communication to Team Members regarding all benefit-related issues, including any enhancements or changes to the benefits program.
Assist the Benefits Team with the annual Open Enrollment process.
Process and file benefit forms and related information.
Assist the Benefits Team in the orientation of new Team Members in benefits, including processing the proper enrollment into benefit programs by newly eligible Team Members.
Answer Team Member questions regarding benefits issues.
Communicate information to Team Members and assist with the completion of leave request forms, including but not limited to LFI, Leave of Absence, Bereavement, and Jury Duty/Witness Duty Leave.
Verify the accuracy of forms before submitting them to the Benefits Manager for processing.
Maintain Team Member benefit records.
Assist the Benefits Team, as directed, with the completion of Worker's Compensation and Short-Term Disability reporting and documentation requirements.
Perform general clerical duties, including sorting, filing, duplicating, answering the telephone, and processing information requests to support the Human Resources Department.
Attend regular departmental meetings.
Maintain a high level of professional appearance, demeanor, and ethics.
Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and follow HIPPA regulations at all times.
All other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
Must be 21+ years of age.
Associate degree in a Business Administration or related field.
Experience in a related field in lieu of a degree may be considered.
Two (2) years of experience in Human Resources, Benefits, or related field required.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Management in written and verbal forms.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Proven ability to work independently and in a team setting.
Proven ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
Must be able to utilize critical-thinking skills to work independently and make decisions without direct supervision.
Must demonstrate strong organizational skills; be detail-oriented, innovative, flexible, task-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
Demonstrated ability to function in a fast-paced environment, under short time constraints, and within established guidelines.
Proven knowledge of commonly used Human Resources concepts, practices, and policies required.
Demonstrated knowledge of benefits terminology required.
Physical Requirements:
Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color, and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
Ability to sit for prolonged periods while using a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs.
Ability to access all properties and areas.
Manual dexterity to operate job-related equipment.
Work Conditions:
Work is typically in an office environment; however, additional work areas may be unusually hot, cold, and/or noisy and may contain second-hand smoke. Tasks may be performed from a sitting or non-sitting position in a confined area. Team Members may be required to stand, walk, lift, reach, push, pull, and grasp. These tasks include the maintenance and care of the assigned area. Work may entail constant contact with fellow Team Members, Management, Vendors, and Guests. High volume and fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
