As an Electrical Estimator, you will assist throughout the preconstruction process by leading conceptual estimating efforts to produce accurate construction cost budgets and estimates. This role will focus on electrical costs and provide input to conceptualize and interpret the scope from incomplete or schematic documents. You will be relied upon to successfully deliver design phase services and will have the opportunity to assist with multiple projects at once.
What You Will Do:
As an Electrical Estimator, your primary daily responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
Display proficiency in the scope review process and utilize estimating software platforms to perform accurate quantity take-offs.
Develops skills in concept, schematic design, and technical specifications to prepare competitive bid proposals.
Develop working relationships with clients, architects, subcontractors, and vendors to pursue bid invitations and obtain a competitive advantage.
Meet deadline challenges and have ability to prioritize multiple assignments simultaneously.
Provide technical assistance to Project Manager(s) in negotiating contracts, change orders, etc.
Assure clean hand-off of estimates, bidding information, drawings, specifications, etc. and define inclusions and exclusions for project management and field leaders.
Able to perform on-site inspections of existing conditions and verify switchgear requirements while utilizing appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) as required, including hard hat, safety glasses, and hard-sole footwear at minimum.
What You Will Bring to the Team:
Required Education and Experience
High School graduate or GED (at minimum)
Current State issued Electrician Journeyman or Masters' license, (Or applicable "Electrical related" degree).
Minimum four (4) years of work experience in related job field. -or-
Equivalent combination of the above education, training, and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Business, Finance, or related job field is preferred.
Basic understanding of accounting and project management concepts.
Thorough understanding of research methodology, data analysis, and estimation metrics.

Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions, and trade practices.
Specific trade experience with electrical products and methods of installation and knowledgeable of electrical codes and local ordinances.
Must have the conceptual ability to work with minimum information and quickly develop an understanding of the owner and/or architect's requirements.
Complete knowledge of the estimating documents and the ability to provide accurate qualitative and quantitative analysis of the documents.
Familiarity with construction project management software.
Strong computer knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
This position will be conducted in a temperature-controlled professional office environment, with moderate noise. The role will routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, and file cabinets. While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to talk, listen sit, walk, reach, kneel, stoop, crouch, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel and to operate a computer keyboard and phone while maintaining visual acuity. The employee may occasionally be required to lift and or carry lightweight (under 20 pounds) objects. The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
