Provides clinical expertise in the area of wound and ostomy care for patients, considering age specific, developmental, cultural, and spiritual needs. Promotes the use of current knowledge, techniques, and research into the practice setting. Serves as a facilitator and teacher to staff to enhance their knowledge and skills in caring for patients with wound and/or ostomy needs. Continuously reviews the scientific evidence to support clinical practice and institutes practice changes when needed.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Requires a Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN)
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Basic computer skills, including Excel
Ability to work independently and is self-directed
Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards and behaviors as outlined in the HFHS' Customer Service Policy: Communication, Ownership, Understanding, Motivation, Sensitivity, Excellence, Teamwork, Respect
Must practice the customer skills as provided through on-going training and in-services

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
Current Michigan License as a Registered Nurse
Completion of Enterostomal Therapy program certification within specialty within 6 months of hire
BCLS (CPR) within 6 months of hire
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
- Masters Degree in Nursing preferred
