Dental Assistant
Job Type: Full-time / Non-Exempt
Job Schedule: Monday - Friday: 5 - 8-hour shifts or 4 - 10-hour shifts
Job Location: Muskegon, MI
Hackley Community Care (HCC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that offers comprehensive healthcare services such as dental, medical, mental health, and pharmacy to the residents of Muskegon County and surrounding areas.
HCC's dental department is looking for a full-time, experienced Dental Assistant to perform a variety of clinical and support responsibilities, such as providing knowledgeable assistance to the treating dentist; assuming responsibility for initial dental laboratory needs; initiating and maintaining diagnostic and treatment records; and assuring the efficient and effective functioning of the department’s treatment area.

Job Duties include (but not limited to):
- Helping dental student with dental procedures.
- Contributing to the care and support of patients.
- Assisting dental student in managing dental emergencies.
- Disinfecting instruments and setting up instrument trays.
- Preparing patient for dental work.
- Maintaining patient records.
- Assuming responsibility for initial dental laboratory needs.
- Initiating and maintaining diagnostic and treatment records.
- Taking intraoral and panographic x-rays.
- Taking impressions (pour and trim models and make custom trays).
Job Qualifications and Special Skills include:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Dental Assistant training is required.
- State certified to take dental x-rays preferred; willing to train.
- Preferably 2 or more years of experience but new grads welcome to apply.
- Professional and accurate written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to operate hardware and software.
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity.
- Physical ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
