Bently Nevada, a Baker Hughes business, is looking for a Lead Product Compliance Engineer to work closely with our design teams to deliver next-generation industrial equipment. This role involves regulatory experience in an industrial sector and being comfortable working with agencies in North America, Europe, and Asia, while also having strong engineering fundamentals to successfully interface with the technical teams.
As a Lead Product Compliance Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Reviewing, understanding, and communicating the applicable standards required by Law in country that apply to the relevant products.
Delivering products as part of a team and working on cross-functional projects/teams to deliver technology solutions for the business.
Leading analytical and design activities using proven technologies and vested approaches and methods.
Connecting the dots across technologies and develop cross-technology solutions.
Driving the Technical Regulations and Standards team to define approaches and methodologies for implementation across the organization.
Working within a team setting to execute routine but complex analysis.
Participating with independent third parties to perform product compliance and certification work (testing, design review etc.).
Interacting with outside engineering firms or governmental agencies to provide product compliance to required regional or national standards.

To be successful in this role you will:
Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university /college or high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Engineering/Technology.
Have a minimum of 3 additional years of experience in Technical Regulations and Standards or minimum of 5 years of experience in design of electrical and electronic products.
Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Have solid interpersonal and leadership skills, specifically leadership experience with globally located, multi-disciplinary teams.
Have the ability to work independently, and drive initiatives with minimal oversight.
Desired Characteristics
Have demonstrated prior experiences in certifying hazardous environment products to standards including US/CAN and ATEX/IECEx/UKEX for Class I Div 1/Div 2; Zone 0/Zone 1/Zone 2. Additional familiarity with Intrinsically Safe designs for use in Explosive Atmospheres is highly desirable.
Have existing relationships with certification agencies including CSA, UL, Intertek, DEKRA, BASEEFA, TUV and etc.
Possess familiarity with import/export needs for regional requirements, i.e. CE, KC, UKCA, RCM, INMETRO, CCC, NEPSI, KCs, PESO/CCOE, TRCU, Pattern Approval and etc.
Experience with global wireless directives, like those maintained by the FCC, NOM, NCC, JRL, ANATEL, SRRC and etc.
Have experience with existing global material compliance regulations like REACH, WEEE, RoHS, etc., and familiar with regulations like SCIP and/or PFAS.
Have experience with Functional Safety and demonstrated knowledge of standards such as IEC 61508, IEC 61511 and IEC 62061.

The annual pay scale for this position is between $78,800.00 - $146,400.00.
