The Director of Analytics for Henry Ford Health, under the direction of the Vice President of Enterprise Analytics, plays a pivotal role in driving the organization's analytic infrastructure and projects. This position demands sophisticated project planning, analysis, and execution skills, particularly in managing business intelligence (BI) projects. The Director coordinates with operational leaders and application teams to develop dashboards, scorecards, and reports while ensuring the successful training of staff on BI tools. Additionally, the Director oversees project teams, collaborates with various departments, and communicates regularly with stakeholders. This role involves providing consulting advice to senior management, fostering a data-driven culture, and ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely, and actionable data. The Director also leads multi-disciplinary project teams, conducts organizational reviews, and implements system-wide improvements. Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills, are essential for this role in addition to your ability to leverage your technical competency and the nuances in delivering to the business taking into account efficiencies for how the data is structured.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides consulting advice to top administrative and medical management.
Fosters data driven decision making and organizational culture.
Develops and maintains a system capable of delivering the right data to the right person at the right time to support decision making. Data should be accurate, timely, actionable, and as simple as possible.
Coordinates extraction and delivery of data to external parties.
Prepares written and verbal presentations of findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
Conducts review of organization and functional areas on a project basis; acts as project lead for individual or team projects.
Serves as facilitator of multi-disciplinary project teams; guides teams through complex process/function changes.
Facilitates large system-wide or multi-entity redesign projects, assisting senior leadership in maximizing resources and efficiencies.
Documents current systems and operations. Analyzes client systems, procedures, operations, and available data to identify opportunities for improvement. Assists in the implementation of revised or new methods as necessary.
Identifies internal staff development needs and opportunities for improvement or enhancement of staff skills.
Keeps management informed of project progress and problems, particularly as to needed changes in schedule, resources, or product.
Responsible for ensuring the following: 1.) Developing and defining project scope and objectives, 2.) Developing and refining project work plan, 3.) Guiding day-to-day activities of the project team, 4.) Supplying periodic project updates to client and to Vice President, 5.) Preparing project management reports, and 6.) Coordinating the written and verbal presentation of findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
Performs additional responsibilities as needed.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor's Degree required in Business or related clinical or operation field. Master's degree in Business or a relevant clinical or operational field is preferred.
7 years of relevant experience in appropriate technical field. Should possess previous supervisory and/or consulting experience, as well as one or more specific areas of relevant expertise are required.
Significant project management experience and outstanding analytical, communication, and interpersonal skill are required.
Ability to manage large, complex, simultaneous assignments with potentially conflicting priorities and deadlines
Ability to lead/provoke the thinking of senior level administrators and medical leadership
Strong leadership/mentoring skills applicable to organizational senior leadership teams, Operational Analytics staff, and multi-disciplinary teams
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff across the System
Strong base of analytical/technical, facilitative, and process improvement knowledge
Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to teach complex technical/analytical concepts to non-Performance Analytics managers and staff
Knowledge of and access to relevant System data or data gathering techniques
Sound decision-making skills and ability to determine detailed timelines
Proven project management skills
Strong diplomacy and collaboration skills
Strong computing skills
Expert in the use of Microsoft Office products - Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word
