AWS is looking for an independent, passionate, and deeply experienced automotive compliance professional to provide thought leadership in assisting automotive customers with their use cases, including moving data and regulated workloads to the cloud by addressing their specific security, regulatory, compliance and governance requirements. This candidate should be an experienced and innovative security/compliance/governance professional who has the ability to handle a wide range of compliance requirements and translate the requirements into applications for cloud computing and supporting customer use cases. The Compliance Specialist will work directly with AWS automotive customers and industry partners in adapting their frameworks and architectures to successfully move their IT and more complex strategic workloads to the AWS cloud or build and deploy their solutions using AWS services.
This key position requires specialized experience supporting automotive industry compliance efforts and will have high visibility at the most senior levels of AWS, its customers, government agencies, and institutions, including frequent interaction with CISOs, CTOs, CCOs, CROs, their staffs, and AWS senior leadership. The position, as part of the global AWS Automotive & Manufacturing team, will act as the primary compliance interface for automotive customers and institutions. The candidate will already have, and continue to foster, key relationships, and be able to interpret the impacts of policy changes, track and report on industry trends, and drive a comprehensive global automotive compliance strategy.
Through a deep understanding of AWS automotive customers, industry rules, regulations, requirements and governance best practices, the Compliance Specialist will exceed expectations in developing industry-leading strategies and solutions for addressing the compliance requirements of AWS's global automotive customers.

Key job responsibilities
Drive and execute a global compliance automotive strategy across AWS and work across Amazon teams, where appropriate.
Participate in automotive regulatory compliance assessments and relevant control discussions with AWS teams. This includes synthesizing control requirements, and recommending and pursuing alternative approaches assisting customers in developing compliance roadmaps.
Develop industry-leading automotive compliance resources (internal and customer-facing) based on current demands and projected customer needs.
Assist the AWS Security team in determining the strategic direction of various AWS compliance programs, including new certifications, based on customer interaction and demonstrative metrics.
Be and remain connected with automotive industry trends and events.
Develop and maintain relationships with key leaders in governance, risk, and compliance in the automotive industry.
Collaborate with AWS service teams on industry specific requirements or standards that may impact components of AWS services.
Execute tactical development plans while working with internal stakeholders including compliance specialists, security assurance, public policy, business development managers, sales teams, solution architects, professional services and support teams, legal and contract teams, and AWS service teams.
Identify and manage risks, resolve issues, and escalate where appropriate to drive projects to successful completion.
Keep the AWS Automotive & Manufacturing leadership team fully informed of customer engagement status, issues, and activities.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
8+ years of hands-on experience in automotive technology compliance, legal, governance, audit, consulting, or working with regulatory bodies
5+ years of experience with direct engagement with senior corporate, government officials, and auditors
5+ years of experience working with global automotive compliance requirements, standards, and best practices (e.g., ISO 21434, ISO 26262, TISAX, NHTSA Cybersecurity Best Practices, ASPICE, NIST, CIS, FIPS), including developing compliance/regulatory documentation for the automotive industry.
Preferred Qualifications
