Description:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for planning and directing accounting activities and overseeing payroll functions. This role includes processing payroll, maintaining employee time records, managing capital outflow, and ensuring payment receipt for goods and services. The Accounting Manager reports to the President and is a key member of the Accounting team, contributing to the strategic direction of the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and improve payroll, billing, and accounting processes.
- Establish internal controls and guidelines for transactions and budget preparation.
- Prepare and oversee business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Implement and maintain payroll systems for accurate processing of payroll transactions.
- Provide financial analysis for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Facilitate audits by providing necessary records and documentation.
- Recommend updates to accounting and payroll software and systems.
- Manage accounting staff responsible for financial reporting, billing, collections, payroll, and budgeting.
- Coordinate and identify training programs for new and current staff.
- Oversee daily workflow, scheduling, and assignments of the department staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
- 3-5 years of experience in billing, accounting, payroll, and accounts payable/receivable.
- 1-3 years of managerial experience.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Google Docs, and HRIS software.
- Strong communication skills, positive attitude, and adaptability.
- Experience working in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
- Successful completion of background check and drug screen.
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident, eligible to work in the US, with a valid driver's license or state ID.
- Proficiency in English.
- Strong management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Extensive knowledge of payroll functions and software.
