The Kraft Heinz Company is currently seeking two Pipefitters to work at our sauces, and pickles processing facility in Holland, MI. Successful candidates must be willing to contribute improvements suggestions and ideas to help continue the success of our facility. Ideal candidates must be safety and quality orientated along with demonstrate adaptability and willingness to work in a team orientated, fast paced work environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2-3 years of welding stainless steel experience
- Journeyman card preferred
- 15+ years of related experience
- Candidates must be available to work overtime including weekends and holidays

Responsibilities & Duties:
- Perform set-up, start-up and changeover procedures for the equipment as needed
- Must have knowledge of the type, magnitude, hazards, and means to control all energy types. Also, follow all proper lockout/tag out procedures prior to setting up, cleaning, servicing, adjusting, clearing or entering equipment
- Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications, using tools such as saws, cutting torches, and pipe threaders and benders
- Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment, per specifications, by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, and threading joints.
- Inspect, examine, and test installed systems and pipe lines, using pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other methods
- Visually inspects and tests pumps valves and equipment for proper condition, operation and adjustment
- Select pipe sizes and types and related materials, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, per specifications
- Clean and lubricates shafts, bearings, gearboxes, valves, pumps and other parts of or line equipment and performs preventive maintenance tasks as directed.
- Reports and determines of cause of all piping failures when found and fills out time reports and work orders as required
- Detects, identifies, adjusts or repairs or equipment malfunctions. Communicates work with supervisors or other maintenance workers when necessary to diagnose problem.
- Dismantles defective pumps, valves, and reassembles using new, rebuilt or repaired parts
- Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related facilities, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, filters and related equipment
- Turn valves to shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids from pipe sections, using valve keys or wrenches
- Maintains and repairs automated pneumatic machinery and hydraulic equipment
- Cut and bore holes in structures, such as bulkheads, decks, walls, and mains, prior to pipe installation, using hand and power tools. Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems, units, fittings, and related machines and equipment, following specifications
- Completes assigned work orders and performs complete safety inspections of machinery, equipment or area
- Performs and completes cleaning inspections after every task to eliminate all foreign material sources
- Operates metal cutting or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts such as aluminum, stainless steel and mild steel.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work station and area
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
