Summary
The role of Retail Assistant Manager within Williams Gun Sight Company is to complete the duties of a sales associate, in addition to managerial responsibilities such as; guiding and training sales associates, responding to manager phone calls and pages, process more complex retail transactions, and participate in inventory processes.
Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- Sales:
- Selling firearms and related accessories.
- Able to provide superior customer service to all customers on the retail floor and/or over the phone.
- Providing knowledgeable safe firearm handling techniques and product information to customers purchasing firearms.
- Daily stocking and merchandising of shelves and firearm cabinets.
- Daily/weekly clean-up of retail floor, displays, bathrooms, and storage areas.
- Use of computer to track inventory for potential sales to retail customers.
- Ability to take direction for daily tasks or projects related to Williams’ retail department from upper management.
- Assistant Managerial Responsibilities:
- Problem solving regarding customer service, inventory, sales activities, conflict resolution etc. and assisting sales associate employees with problem solving.
- Process returns
- Respond to Manager Pages
- Transfers
- Write-up employee purchases
- Collect supplies and forms as needed from office building
- If General Manager is not available; take employee call-ins
- Escalate employee performance / relations issues to General Manager, COO, and HR as needed.
- Process NICS calls/checks/proceeds
- Transfer delays
- Process Special Orders
- Investigate and complete inventory fixes. Escalate as needed (involve General Manager, Office Manager, Purchaser as needed)
- Participate in Inventories
- Take Warehouse calls on the weekends
Education, Skills, and Requirements:
- Retail sales experience at least 3 years required; firearm sales experience preferred
- MUST be extremely punctual
- MUST Have the ability to work weekends
- Must have firearm and firearm safety experience from either personal or prior professional use.
- Must have basic computer knowledge to check inventory and research products via the internet.
Physical Demands
- Employee must possess the physical requirements to perform activates listed above.
- Employee must be physically able to work on their feet for an 8-10 hour shift while selling retail products.
- Employee must be able to lift up to 10 lbs comfortably for daily tasks.
- Must be 18 years old and not have a felony conviction to apply for this position.
