Position Purpose: To manage and oversee all aspects of IT operations, business applications, and infrastructure across multiple regions and operating companies. The Director of IT will play a key role in developing and implementing IT strategies that align with the business objectives, drive business value and be a champion for innovation. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a strategic mindset to lead our IT team effectively.
Essential Responsibilities
*Develop and implement IT strategies and initiatives to support the company's business objectives and drive innovation
*Provide leadership and direction to the IT team, including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance management
*Manage the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company's custom applications, servers, storage, and backup capabilities. Partner with Corporate IT on the enterprise IT infrastructure to keep system secure and available, including robust internal controls compliance framework
*Manage the portfolio of all custom or company specific applications, on premise and hosted, supporting finance, design and engineering, construction management, estimating and scheduling, HR, and equipment management
*Manage IT budgets, resources, and vendor relationships to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness
*Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage and make recommendations for adoption
*Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their technology needs and requirements and develop solutions to meet those needs
*Provide strategic guidance and support for IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and deployments
*Stay abreast of industry best practices, regulations, and compliance requirements related to IT and ensure adherence to relevant standards
*Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement across multiple regions and operating units
*Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute IT integration strategies for newly acquired entities, aligning technology initiatives with overall business objectives
Knowledge | Skills | Abilities
*In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and security best practices
*Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing IT strategies and initiatives that drive business value and innovation
*Experience in deploying and managing enterprise Applications across multiple disciplines, including financials, job cost, construction management, HR/payroll, timekeeping, procurement, bidding, and claims
*Excellent project management skills and a strong track record of delivering IT solutions that improve business operations
*Experience facilitating and leading discussions with cross-functional teams to reach consensus on new technologies
*Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of end-user and senior management
*Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and drive continuous improvement
Qualifications
*Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
*Proven experience 10 years in a senior leadership role in IT, preferably in the construction industry.
*Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CISM) are a plus.
Work Environment
*Must be able to remain in a stationary position over 50% of the time
*Continuously operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
*The person in this position frequently communicates with employees and coworkers and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
*Able to lift 15 pounds at times
